Commencing in April 2012, I intend to become the first person in recorded history to walk the entire length of the Zambezi River. It is one hell of a challenge, particularly at my advanced age, but I am confident that I can do it.
Below, I have appended a 'presentation' - for want of a better word - with which I am trying to attract sponsors for the trip, so if anyone reading this has particular ideas, please pass them on to me. Even without sponsorship, I will do the trip, but a little bit of funding would certainly make life easier and contribute to the ultimate success of what promises to be a suitable adventure to go out on - perhaps.
Anyway, read on and tell me what you think please.
Oh damnit - I made a mess of the downloading so while I try and figure it out or take advice, let me tell you a little about what the proposed venture will entail.
The fourth longest river in Africa and by far and away the most romantic, the Zambezi meanders through the continent for 2400 miles and goes from Mwinilunga in the Northwestern corener of Zambia, north into Angola and then south agrain till it re enters Zambia, heads east toward Mozambique and enters the sea at a remote settlement named Chinde.
I reckon the journey should take me ten months, but that is very much the proverbial piece of string. I could take less, though that is doubtful and could certainly take considerably more. We shall see.
I will come back to this I promise and at some stage over the next vouple of days, will insert my 'proposal' and ask for your advice.
This is my adventure for 2012 and it is my biggest challenge yet.
